Introduction

Houston TASO Umpires have been hosting the scholarship tournament since 1999.  Our goal is to have as many Varsity and JV teams as possible.  To reach this goal, we need a commitment from many different entities.  We would like to thank the coaches for their commitment to registering your team(s) in the tournament.  The coaches at each host field offers their field and commits their time during the tournament.  The umpires donate their time to contribute to benefit the student athlete recipients.  When we receive a contribution, the foundation commits every dollar to increase the scholarship amounts given for that year.

Tournament

There is a round of pool play that offers 3 games (2 game guarantee, weather permitting).  These three games will be played on a week night and two on Saturday.  The winners of the pool play will play on Sunday morning, which will leave the final Varsity and JV teams that will compete Sunday afternoon.  The final Varsity and JV teams will play in the Championship bracket.

Summary

This tournament allows us to deliver thousands of dollars in scholarships to deserving student athletes in the greater Houston area.  The tournament has also developed into one of the most competitive high school baseball tournaments in the state.  We are very thankful and would not be successful without the support of the coaches, umpires, volunteers and community sponsors!

It is understood and agreed that participation in the tournament involves certain risks, including but not limited to transportation accidents, personal injuries, and loss of destruction of property.
